Thermaltake, as the pioneer who incorporates RGB lights into PSU, has launched the Thermaltake Smart Pro RGB Bronze
Series, coming with a pre-installed, patented Riing 14 RGB fan with 5 lighting modes to choose from and built-in memory.
Featuring capacities ranging from 650W to 850W and 80 PLUS Bronze certification, Smart Pro RGB Bronze
Series adopts the highest quality components and fully modular design that always accommodate any mainstream build under any circumstances.
By pressing the RGB lighting button, the fan color can be switched among an RGB Cycle with variants including Solid Red, Green, Blue, White, and a LED Off mode. The fan is also constructed with a built-in memory function, saving the color applied and insuring the same color selection every time you boot your PC.
Power Supply Fan Face-Up Placement for Better Cooling
With the face-up placement of the fan, users can freely gaze upon their patented RGB fan and at the same time obtaining additional
performance by using the fan as a additional exhaust mechanism, repelling unwanted heat from your chassis. As the thermal
image testing shown, the temperature of PSU and computer system will decrease around 3°C (5.4 °F) by placing PSU face-up.
Riing 14 RGB Fan with Concentrated Compression Fan Blade
The fan blade is designed for high static pressure requirements of demanding applications; the concentrated compression blade is engineered to focus the weaker, inner circle of air outward, allowing the outer section to pressurize the air. The fan blades are optimized to enhance static pressure for an impressive cooling performance. Hydraulic bearings for silent operation guarantee ultra-low noise, and the anti-vibration mounting system strengthens the product’s stability during operation. Moreover, In-mold injection anti-vibration rubber pads provide hassle-free usage for 80% protection coverage, including all four corners.
Ultra Quiet Smart Zero Fan
Smart Zero Fan ensures zero noise when the fan operates below approximately 10% working load to minimize audible noise.
The fan will operate when the power supply working load over 10%. A switch is provided for those who prefer the fan to spin constantly.
< 50 mV Low Ripple Noise
All ripples are lower than 50mV for high stability on +12V, +5V, or +3.3V from 0% to 100% load to ensure a high quality power supply. Low ripple noise will keep your performance-critical components, such as high-end graphics cards, to operate reliably for longer.
Strict Voltage Regulation < ±3%
The voltage regulation of the PSU is set to no more than ±3% for major rails to meet the greater performance. The strict voltage regulation of the Smart Pro RGB Bronze Series is better than Intel’s standard ±5% for major rails and ±10% for -12V.
High Quality Japanese 105°C/221°F Main Capacitor
High quality 105 °C (221 ° F) Japanese brand main capacitor which greatly improve the durability and offer the highest stability and reliability.
High Amperage Single +12V Rail & DC to DC Design
Smart Pro RGB 750W Bronze is equipped with a powerful single +12V rail, eliminating the limitations caused by voltage distributions, delivering the power your CPU and VGA demand in any situations. Besides, with DC to DC design, the unit optimizes maximum energy harvest for computer systems, providing the best compatibility, conversion efficiency and stable voltage output.
Smart Pro RGB 750W Bronze offers cable selection for users while powering the system at an advantageous voltage. Low-profile flat black cables can make cable management easier, reduce clutter and increase airflow inside the chassis.
80 PLUS Bronze Certified and Skylake Ready
Deliver up to 85% efficiency under real world load conditions to promise lowest power losses. Additionally, Smart Pro RGB 750W Bronze has been optimized to work with Intel’s latest, Sixth-generation Skylake processors to achieve maximum energy saving.
RGB Lighting Provides Best Aesthetics for All Chassis
Smart Pro RGB Bronze Series is the best idea for users to go with when they are looking for an RGB PSU which permits remarkable functionality and aesthetics in all cases, especially Open Frame or Tower cases.

Another one for all you RGB fans out there! The Thermaltake Smart Pro RGB 850W is a great addition to any gaming system. It offers rock solid stability and comes with some nice features, such as the Smart Zero Fan, RGB lighting switch, Japanese capacitors, 80 Plus Bronze certification and 7 years warranty … you get all this, at an extremely affordable price.
Just like the recently released Toughpower DPS G RGB line the Smart Pro RGB Bronze line of power supply units by Thermaltake was obviously designed to “accompany” their other RGB components (for example the Water RGB line) and to cover the needs of gamers and more specifically those who are into RGB peripherals and hardware. Unfortunately since the Smart Pro RGB Bronze line can’t be controlled via software the button at the rear is your only choice and reaching that if you place your tower on the ground may not be the easiest thing (of course you can choose one of the 5 modes and be done with it). Moving to performance well numbers speak for themselves so the Smart Pro RGB 850W Bronze PSU does extremely well in rail stability and although noise levels are not the lowest we’ve ever recorded until 50% load the unit is almost inaudible. Finally the fully modular design of the unit makes it virtually future proof but even more important is that you can end up using as many cables as you need thus saving space and that’s never a bad thing.
Right now the Smart Pro RGB 850W Bronze power supply unit by our good friends over at Thermaltake retails for USD99.99 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 124.90Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) so it lands in the middle of several similar models. However the Smart Pro RGB 850W Bronze is quite unique since it combines a fully modular design with very good rail performance, Riing 14 RGB fan (256 colors / 5 modes) and a zero fan feature which can be turned on/off via a switch so it’s a power supply unit certainly worth of our Golden Award.
I'm still not convinced we need to bring the RGB fan craze to literally every power supply under the sun. But here's the thing... Thermaltake has a unit here that stands pretty well on its own, regardless of the pretty lights in the fan. It's not the best performer I've ever seen, but it doesn't really need to be. It's not meant for the high end market, as its 80 Plus Gold cousin is. It's a pretty good unit. Sometimes that's enough.
A good overall performance PSU at a fair price, considering the RGB lighting and the fully modular cable design. Nonetheless, we suggest you invest a few more bucks and get a higher efficiency PSU which will save you some money on the long run, and on top of that it will harm less the environment.
